What is the Author Ring?

 

The Author Ring is a direct-sales web ring for indie fiction authors. It connects authors who sell directly to readers — through their own storefronts — into a loop that makes it easy for readers to discover new authors in the same space.

Who can join?

 

Any indie fiction author who sells books directly (via Payhip, WooCommerce, Wix Stores, BookVault, Shopify, etc.) is welcome to apply. You must have an active direct-sale storefront — linking only to Amazon or other retailers is not eligible.

What genres are accepted?

All fiction genres are welcome. The ring works best when there's variety — readers can follow the loop through romance, fantasy, LitRPG, sci-fi, and everything in between.

Is there a cost to join?

 

Joining the Author Ring is $1 per ring you join each month. You can join one ring for $12/year. It's a community tool built to lift all boats by helping readers discover indie direct-sale authors.

If you join our membership program at any level, it is included with the cost of your membership.

What do I have to do once I'm in?

 

You'll add the Author Ring navigation widget to your website — a small "Previous | Author Ring | Next" button set. This keeps the loop intact so readers can hop between members. We'll give you the code or widget to add.

Can I leave or be removed?

 

Yes. You can leave any time by removing the widget and letting us know. Authors who remove the navigation widget without notice or whose direct-sale storefront goes inactive may be removed from the ring to keep the experience seamless for readers.
